A fun little place in the Boise Valley is well worth it with the open space and large waterfront. If you go on a chilly day the views will be stunning and will be a great family trip there.
It’s a great area for fishing, and taking the kayaks out is amazing as well when the water is so clear. also, an amazing spot to fly a kite. The lake is about 23 miles from Boise Idaho and worth the drive. This is a great access point to the Boise national forest and the rivers that feed the reservoir.
One of the best camp spots, it has beautiful scenery and tons of hidden camping areas. This place is full of fish even in winter, this is very tasty with the occasional natural trout. There are many trout which are very delicious.

3. Teton Dam
It’s an awesome place, this site has more significance if you are familiar with the history and story. It’s highly recommended if you are in the area and have at least an hour to appreciate the site. Wonderful piece of Idaho history that you should visit, don’t forget to bring water as it can get quite warm once you hike below the canyon rim.
There are nice and diverse places for fishing, you can catch rainbow and cutthroat trout, white fish, and carp. There is Swift shallow water, deep still pools, and nice holes with Eddie’s. It’s a super cool place to go.
History was made here, it was fun to come to see. It’s a fun place to visit, especially if you hike into the valley. It’s so beautiful. Once you get to the river it is very relaxing, with wonderful sounds of nature, geese honking flying overhead glistening in the sunset, and birds singing in the distant river water singing their eternal tune. This place has history and beautiful views abound. It’s also great for fishing and for scenic rides in the country.
This area is highly recommended for outdoor enthusiasts. It’s an extremely beautiful and peaceful place, a nice quiet location for camping, fishing, or a day trip.

5. Island Park Dam
This place is a great spot for bird watching, there is a picnic table next to the water. You can have a small Bank fight there.
This dam allows decent access to fishing and provides a good viewing area of both the lake and river below. There is a short but pretty trail leading down to the river.
It’s a very great place to launch your raft, dory, or kayak, a little rough water the first one-fourth mile but fairly easy after that. On the other side is the I.P. reservoir, a great place for kayaking, boating, and swimming.
Island park dam is in a really pretty setting. Below the dam is Box Canyon and it’s a great place to fly fish. Above the dam is the Island Park reservoir which has pine trees all around it and is very picturesque, the fishing is fantastic in this area.
